Solar Farm Authorisations to Construct
One important stage in solar farm development in Ireland is the “authorisation to construct” which is issued by the Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU).
Below is a brief summary of solar farms which have been granted this authorisation in the last two years.

Ireland’s target of 8 GW of solar PV looms large in the context that we are one-quarter of the way to the target with five short years left to accomplish much. It’s virtually guaranteed that two things will happen in the interim (1) the target for solar PV will increase, and (2) the target will be missed.
