Solar Capital Investment Scheme (TAMS 3)

Solar Capital Investment Scheme (TAMS 3)

Ireland is now implementing various European regulations relating to investment in the rural economy, and part of this is a significant increase in solar PV investments for agri enterprises.

The Solar Capital Investment Scheme (SCIS) intends that farmers will apply this grant aid towards self-consumption, or in other words to facilitate energy independence.

Helping farm enterprises achieve energy independence is one of our core aims; in support of which we offer a brief summary of the new Solar Capital Investment Scheme (SCIS) under TAMS 3.

Roof Mounted or Ground Mounted

The solar array being installed with the aid of the Solar Capital Investment Scheme (SCIS) may be either ground or wall mounted, or roof mounted up to certain limitations.

The maximum array size supported under the scheme is 62 kWp .

Smaller applications can be made up to the maximum.

Larger sized arrays may also be installed, if required.

Our engineers will recommend the most appropriate solution for your farm enterprise – based on your unique individual needs.

60% Solar Grant

The TAMS 3 scheme applies 60% grant funding for all applicants.

This grant is applicable to both farming activities and also the farm dwelling.

Several applications can be made under the Solar Capital Investment Scheme (SCIS) up to the maximum permitted.

Self-Consumption

Under the terms of the Solar Capital Investment Scheme (SCIS) the electricity generated from your solar panels must be principally used for farming purposes and/or within the farm dwelling.

Feed-in tariffs are allowed within the terms of the scheme.

To avail of this 60% grant, you will need to have one of our engineers complete the On Farm Solar PV Survey.

Successful TAMS 3 Applications

Once your “On Farm Solar PV Survey” has been completed, it should be included with your online application at agfood.ie.

All of the appropriate documentation should be submitted for a successful TAMS 3 application.

There is a documentation checklist available.

Once approval has been received from the department your solar PV system can be installed within the timeframe allowed.
